Vibrant sportscaster Stephen Afful known in the media space as Stephen Zando has joined Kumasi based Luv 99.5 FM, a subsidiary of Multimedia Group Limited, as he continues the upward trajectory in his young but eventful career behind the microphone.
Zando leaves Global Media Alliance two years after joining Kumasi-based Y 102.5 FM, a media house known for its prowess in the entertainment arena with a focused programming concept of 75% music and 25% talk.
Despite the music-filled nature of the station, Zando has carved a strong niche for himself driving a lot of sports traffic to Y FM which hinges on his powerful delivery interlaced with thought-provoking analysis and enlightening interviews.
The affable and intelligent sports journalist began his career on KNUST Campus media, Focus FM and TEK TV as host, producer and reporter on a variety of radio and television shows.
Over the years, Stephen Zando has demonstrated his dexterity in the media landscape been a writer cum editor for a myriad of Ghanaian football websites.
He previously worked with online portal sportsworldghana.com before managing his own website agrofie.com which lasted for a short period. His primary interest being a field journalist has seen him covering Inter University Games (Main & Mini GUSA) including Cross Country for over five years.
His arrival at the English-speaking radio station will be a major coup by Luv FM following the departure of Kelvin Owusu Ansah to Media General.
