Accra Hearts of Oak have signed an agreement with FC Samartex winger Benjamin Yorke, Sportscorna.com can exclusively report.
Popularly know in Samreboi as “Akua Donkor” the Central region-born mercurial attacker will join the current Ghana Premier League leaders when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Rainbow Boys were seriously looking to lure Yorke to their camp in the second transfer window but the move collapsed because the Samreboi-based club, who are in hot pursuit for a slot in the Ghanaian top-flight, wanted to keep their prized asset until at least the end of the season despite Hearts meeting the demands tabled by the club.
Sportscorna.com understands that the captain of FC Samartex, Benjamin Yorke’s contract will expire after the ongoing season and the player has signed a pre-contract agreement with nineteen-time winners of the Ghana Premier League, Hearts of Oak, where he will link up with them after the season.
Per our sources, he has already passed his medicals and Hearts won’t be paying transfer fees to Samartex owing to the status of the player at the end of the season.
Yorke is one of the finest ‘roaming playmakers’ in the Division One League and will add more bite to an already power-packed and tantalizingly talented Hearts midfield.
